# Perena

> Perena is a decentralized financial protocol on Solana. Its flagship product is USD STAR (USD*), a fully collateralized, yield-bearing digital dollar whose value accrues automatically from delta-neutral strategies, secured lending positions, and tokenized real-world assets. Perena is non-custodial: users always control their funds and can withdraw at any time. Yields are variable.

Perena is not affiliated with Numerai or the NMR token. "Numéraire" was the name of an earlier Perena AMM product and does not refer to the current protocol.
